Maybe I need to take a pill but right now I am feeling a little schmaltzy.
I think all dopers need to give themselves a big pat on the back. There are so many smart, funny, sarcastic, wonderful people here that everyone should be proud to be part of the doper community. I may not post often but I do lurk a lot and you people always know how to make me hork liquids through my nose. And if for some reason I ever forget how to do so I can post in GQ and get an answer in three minutes or less.
Straight Dope is a great site but the people make it really spectacular. I can think of no other site that allows one to express any opinion, ask any question or discuss any topic under the sun while recieving intelligent and thoughtful feedback.
I will stop rambling now. I just want to say “Congratulations to all of you”.
The SDMB has a great way of getting me to read posts I vehemently disagree, but gradually become seduced by the wily and informative rhetoric of highly intelligent people. Being around such smary-pants, its easy to develop an inferiority complex. But there is also a connection I have to them in our mutual desire to fight ignorance, leap up on the table and scream, “FOR THE LAST TIME, MOM, ITS AN URBAN LEGEND!”
Whether you’re a dipstick, a dimwit, a dunce, or a dork, or someone like Qadgop, Fenris, Scylla, Rue DeDay, Wally of revered memory, or even the great Cecil himself,
if you’re on the SDMB, you rule. No two ways about it.
Well, if because of membership in the SDMB, I rule…
…I must find ways of manifesting that rule in Real Life! But how? How?
:: paces room with furrowed brow ::
I know! Mad Science!

Through the powers granted me by Twisted Science, I must Gain Command Of The City! Yes! All shall bow to me and follow even my least command!
I shall make improvements. Oh yes. Green lines on the roads are only the beginning.
Bwa-ha-ha-ha-haaa!
:: mad evil laughter ::
Seriously, I thank the SDMB too. This place and its crew of whackos–er, I mean ‘brilliant individualists’–has taught me many things indeed. I am profoundly grateful to have found it.
