Spud–nuh uh! I lived in Carmel for 10 years. It’s been a while since I moved (I was in high school), and I’ve lost contact with all my Carmel friends. My mom taught at CHS for years…you didn’t happen to go there, did you? Did they ever finish that ridiculously expensive new high school building?
But, I am not a Hoosier by birth, and since the move was a while ago, nor am I by transplant. I’m a California weirdo by transplant, hillbilly by birth. But Indiana does lay claim to a large portion of my growing up.
Carmel Greyhound Football, 1986 State Champs! Whoo hoo! (Best game I’ve ever seen)
But, everyone in Indiana knows why all the trees here lean south…
“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even checkered by defeat, than to rank with those poor souls who neither suffer much nor enjoy much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.” Theodore Roosevelt
Howdy. I’m a lifelong Hoosier and proud to say so.
Live about 30 miles south of the aforementioned Bloomington and visit (shop) there regularly. Love Nashville, but our autumn colors are just as pretty.
