Horky cat

Tonka hasn’t vomited since we’ve had him (since last March). Not a hairball. Tonight… Oh, dear. Four times in about six places. The first two times it was food. The second two were ‘mucous’ (stomach fluids).

He doesn’t get into things (‘mom’ checked to make sure he didn’t). We’re thinking it may have been caused by the two Crave kitty treats he ate. Didn’t see the sell-by date, but they’ve been around a while. They’re in the trash now. He started vomiting not long after he ate them.

He defecated in his box, then looked like he wanted to eat. He circled my ankles as I stroked him, and he started purring. (He’s a very soft purrer.) He purred as he ate some food. He seems back to normal now. I called the vet before he ate; and the receptionist said they can’t see him tonight, but to keep an eye on him and make sure he drinks water. (I put down fresh water.) She gave me the number to the emergency vet, 25 miles away, and asked me to call in the morning to give her an update (which I presume she’ll tell to the vet).

We think it was just bad kitty treats, and he’s OK. But I worry about that boy!

Give him extra scritches for me.
My girl, Cassy died last night. She’d been sick for a couple days, and we had a vet appt for today.
I’m heartbroken.

Oh, {{{picnurse}}}, I’m sad to hear that! We lost Harvey a year ago this month. :frowning:

Tonka will be receiving a lot of attention.

We lost our beloved oldest cat in July. Not a day goes by that we don’t think of him. He would have been 15 at Thanksgiving.

Trust me. It will get better. Take as long as you need to grieve. Was Cassy a rescue kitty?

Not exactly. We got her from an old woman who had a female cat she thought was too old to get pregnant. We got her shortly after my son died. We were caring for his wife and thought a kitten would help her with her physical therapy.
That was 13 years ago.
