hormones for confusion

as i understand it many feelings are caused or increased by specific hormones, eg, dopamene causes a feeling of craving and prolactin tells you that you have had enough.

but which hormone or chemical process explains that feeling of total confusion?
or is confusion more like a lack of an understanding than an actual process?

Women going through menopause sometimes experience real mental “foggieness.” I don’t know whether that’s related to lower estrogen levels.
Decreased serotonin levels are associated with depression, which can include confusion/difficulty concentrating & remembering.
