Horse race coverage

I am getting ready to watch Belmont Stakes and I was wondering.

Are the NBC announcers and commentators allow to bet on the race?

I don’t know why they wouldn’t be. They’re not employees of Belmont Park.

I found this for a contest, which I know is different from a race, but still… FWIW.

Anyway. Maybe somebody else knows for sure.

I was wondering if NBC has a policy about it.

It might be tough to call a race without bias if you had $500 riding on a horse.
