On the History channel they’ve been showing ghost stories all night, and all day apparently. I’m one of those people that would love to see a ghost, but I know I’d shit my pants if I actually did see one. But I’m a believer anyway
Earlier this year I stayed at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs Arkansas just for the opportunity that i would see one of the reputed ghosts. Didn’t see any, but not for lack of trying. I snuck around by myself, but alas, no ghosts. Pissed me off!! Damn ghosts!!
Has anyone here stayed in a haunted hotel and seen any ghosts or experienced any mysterious happenings? I would love to hear the story!
I have stayed in a haunted hotel…[sub]Banff Springs Hotel fyi[/sub] never saw anything though as it was said the ghost (at least this one ghost I’m talking about) is only seen at midnight and in another area of the hotel away from my room. I didn’t need to get lost at night there!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of year, with all the Ghost
Stories on the Family Channel, History channel, etc.
I’m one of those people who thinks they would love to see
a ghost or poltergeist too, although, like Ellen Degeneres, I know I really wouldnt, because it would freak me out, even if “it was something goofy like the coffee table
doing the hokey pokey.”
I went to the Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC, but didnt see the Pink Lady. Well, I think she only shows up in /around a particular room.
According to one of those stations, is it TLC or Travel channel’s most haunted destinations? the most haunted inn in the country is the Myrtles Plantation, in Mississippi
or maybe Louisiana.
Anyway sorry for rambling. Gotta go. Waiting for the Great
Pumpkin tonight. Wish me luck…
I took a tour of the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast this past July. Someday I’d like to stay there overnight, and sleep in the room where the stepmother was killed.
During the tour, my friend and I were alone in one of the attic rooms. We got really creeped out suddenly and then the door starting swinging shut on its own. My friend took a picture of the room before we got out of there, and I could swear there’s something captured on the film. It looks like one of those ghost pictures you see in books or magazines.
You can see it here. Disclaimer: Graves weren’t really being desecrated in the graveyard!
I love all the haunted stuff on TV right now, too. When my kids are older, I’d love to drive around the country, staying at haunted hotels and writing about the experience.

Hey, that looks like the ghost on this page. Maybe Las Vegas is haunted!
Disclaimer I get the heebie jeebies at the drop of a hat, I have never wanted to see a ghost, and yet spent most of my childhood in a haunted house, so saw them, or evidence of them fairly regularly. I would be happy if I never saw one again.
That said, I stayed for a week on the Queen Mary. Nothing happened through the whole week. i toured the ship, the nursery, the infirmary and read the “Deaths on Board” lists. My last night there I woke up completely freaked out. Laying there I could hear rustling. I wasn’t sure what it was. Weeks ago, when I got married I was wearing my gown and heard the same sound. It was the sound of a crinoline rustling.
The Copper Queen hotel is pretty well known around Arizona as a local haunt. I’ve heard some first-person stories about some freaky events there, from a couple of different people. If I can talk the SO into it, a weekend getaway there might be spooky fun.
Oh, and here’s a directory of haunted hotels, so you can plan your cross-country ghost fest.
