Pleonast was first with his vote leading the charge. If you were first, I would have voted for you instead.
:dubious:
They say, when taking a multiple choice test, to always go with your first instinct, and to not second guess yourself. You will most often be correct.
That being said, My first instinct on this info is the following :
Unvote Pleonast
Vote Pants
On the assumption that Scum can communicate 24/7.
It would totally work with the theory that he is being coached.
The “Fruitless” question I asked earlier [Early on, in Night -1 or Night 0],
Along with California Roll asking a similar question just here recently, and quoted in a Plankton post.
I guess Zero is a Rhyme with Hero, and not some Math equation.
NETA
Looks like Plankton asked the question more formally. FTR : The question was asked a total of three times, the second time was by Sushi, I thought, who didn’t color it, but did a decent job making it noticeable, outside of Mafia conventions.
**Suffice to say, I didn’t read Planktons Post, because I read Maha, and I already counted ““Twice””. **
Suffice to say further, that, somehow, it doesn’t really change anything for me, and yet, it changes everything.
Yet my most recent vote change remains.
… huh?
Maha stated that he “” answered “” a question that was asked twice. I read his answer, and counted My question, back on Night -1 or 0, and the one that Sushi, IIRC, asked. Having counted two answers to the question, I moved to respond to Maha.
Only after I responded to Maha, did I realize that Plankton, to my Count, asked the 24/7 Scum board question, a third time.

<oog>
It’s confusing enough when I use Spivak pronouns. Meeko, please don’t muck with creative nicknames for ushimi. “California roll,” indeed.
</oog>
My position hasn’t changed – I don’t have any good candidates to vote for. So instead of looking for suspicion “peaks” maybe I should look for suspicion “lows” and work by process of elimination.
(Some minutes and mental editing later…)
I have no read on anyone. I’ve got 17 lows and myself. Which is normal for me. All I do have is the dust-up between ushimi and Ed, a distraction I’ve fallen for several times before. Plus I’m now in Ed’s shoes. I don’t think that fray is reason enough for me to vote for ushimi.
I’ll reread this thread as time permits.
well i think the only soul that meets this criteria is idle. and while i don’t discount the fact that he may indeed have several separate and distinct personalities i am not quite sure that i am ready to pluralize him.
Holy crap, where has this Day gone?
I just don’t see a good case against any one. Of course this is the norm for Day one but I hate it. After seeing it work in other games I’m going to go with those that point out PIS are prone to be scum, so . . .
Vote Pleo
It’s not great but it’s the best I’ve got.
Wait, what?
Crap, somehow I thought we had until Saturday.
Ugh.
So are we really going to lynch ushi here? People are really believing that his behavior so far is consistent with Scum?
<snipped>
question and this is no b.s. cookies because i am once again kind of siding with pleo. not with his conclusion but at least his reasoning. shouldn’t anything posted in this thread be fair game for analysis? so if, for example, a drunken scum mistakenly posted to the main board rather than the scum board shouldn’t that be fair game (this, of course, has happened. and no, it wasn’t me)?
well we have inconsistencies about positions (within the same stinking post).
we’ve got an overblown reaction to confrontation (if it even rose to that level).
we’ve got a vote switch based merely on a substitution - and to some extent if he would have just come out and said that his original vote was because he had a sore ass then he would look even worse.
and now no fracking vote - based on maha’s most recent update.
so yeh, for Day 1 it’s better than a lot of cases.
Yeah, I kind of remember that. I think Zuma was making the drunken posts. It was almost a meme for a while.
Plus there was the famous slip-up in (I think) Sekhmet where a Scum outed himself by posting overNight discussions in the game thread, then deleted it. That shook up the game. And it still came down to a 2 on 1.
So anything since the start of Night Zero is fair game.
In other matters: I don’t see much follow up to ushimi’s post of yesterday evening. Did we slip into a haze of “he’s the vote leader, it’s Day 1, let him swing”?
And Chipacabra: I lost track, who’s your next candidate after ushimi?
ABWOP: peeker right above me seems to have summed up why discussion of ushimi tapered off.

I’ll be asleep when the hangman comes.
If it is permissible, I’d like to “proxy vote” to save my own butt. If it is numerically possible to vote for someone such that the count exceeds (or ties, if that matters) the count on me, then I vote for that person.
if there are two or more such potential persons, I vote in alphabetical order.
If such a “proxy vote” is not permissible, that is perfectly fine and I will vote
Cometothedarkside
For reasons alphabetic and one more reason explained later.

Well, all I can say is I’m Town. I’m Vanilla. I’m from the DC Comics Universe…
I’m Batman!
Heh. At least I got to say that much.
===
A few quick thoughts in no particular order or fleshed-out-ness:
It’s odd that such a righteous big deal was made over my possible “personal” reasons for voting, when Idle Thoughts straight up says he was voting against me “just because he was insulting and I wanted to poke a little harmless fun at him”. Yet no one says boo about it?
If you think my play has been suboptimal if I were Town, imagine how bad it would be if I were Scum. I reject the notion that anyone seriously thinks I’m Scum.
Cometothedarkside pings me a bit. She’s not the only person who has either misrepresented or apparently refused to understand my un-vote, but it is not a “policy to give subs a free pass”, and furthermore she says “I don’t know ushi very well” (#475). Um, no. You don’t know me at all. Anyway, all of those people are on my ping list, but this combined with the excruciating talk about not metagaming while engaging vigorously in metagaming is enough to garner my vote.
A similar ping comes from Chipacabra who has already pre-emptively laid down butt-covering justification for his vote (#466). Numbers alone saved him the eternal shame of hearing me cast a vote of derision in his general direction.
I don’t think I understood a damn thing Meeko said the entire game.
On preview, I see peckerhead’s babblings, so let me give them the full attention they deserve here:
**Day One ends in 4 1/2 hours, at 3 PM Eastern. **
These kind of questions always make my suspicion meter itch.
Something about how they subtly say “What? I’m not scum, so I would I know?!” all innocent-like.
Ushimi’s comes across more this way (“Teehee, explain this to me since I’m not scum and could therefore definitely not know!”) than Suburban’s…but still.
I’m happy with my vote.
On reread, I’ve something else that bothers me.
First, we have the vote (post 331):
Poor reason to vote. Then, an explanation (post 388) in response to Ben:
Except, Idle’s vote was in post 331, before peeker’s vote. (And Idle even notes that peeker references him.) While voting for no stated reason is bad enough, it looks like Idle is trying to spin his lack of voting to match up with someone else’s later vote.
unvote Suburban Plankton
vote Idle Thoughts
for:
- Voting without a stated reason.
- Trying to use someone else’s vote to retcon their own vote.
Since Pleonast has taken his vote off of Suburban Plankton
**unvote Pleonast
vote storyteller0910**
I still think Plankton’s comment can be explained fully by the comments made in this thread from page 1 to his post. Any appeal to a scum board as being the source is entirely unsubstantiated and feels like digging for an excuse to lynch somebody.
Sorry, but you did ask for it story.
