Hottest of the televison geek girls.

:smack: oops–that’s not television

Would DynaGirl be considered a geek? I had the hots for her when I was a kid, it’s the red hair and bangs.

I would have put Kari on the list, too: She may not be fictional (which really, should be considered a plus), but she’s on TV and she’s definitely a nerd. Which still wouldn’t have changed my final answer-- Kaylee’s unsurpassable. Then again, though, while Kaylee is hotter than Kari, Kari is hotter than Jewel Staite, so it really comes down to whether we’re primarily comparing characters or actresses.

Quoth well he’s back:

First season Leslie, or second season Leslie? Her personality (and in particular, her libido) made a complete U-turn between seasons.

I’m having a hard time picking but I did want to mention one thing that happened to me today.

I was walking my friends’ dog. They just got him and are just starting to train him. He tends to greet people and other dogs by jumping on them. I stopped him from jumping on an older gentleman in the park. The attractive red head next to him said “Dad he wants to say hello.” I realized it was Alyson Hannigan.

I may just be a middle-aged straight woman and totally incapable of judging female hotness, but I voted for Kaylee/Jewel because she seems like the girl most likely to enjoy herself when an opportunity arises! Some of those other actresses/characters are prettier, or geekier, or smarter, but many of them seem unapproachable, or have issues, or whatever…Kaylee hs always struck me as a wonderful mix of girlyness, technical ability and earthiness. She would enjoy herself without a lot of angst. And I figure a lot of guys find that hot.

I vote Navi Rawat (Amita) from Numb3rs. Doctor of Applied Mathematics.

Whatever. It’s worth having another picture of her, even in “Favorite Power Tool” threads. Rowr.

Cuz she ain’t hot? At all.

Tina Fey, not hot!?, your eye doctor called and said that you are nuts! (Tina was WAY hotter as Sara Palin than Palin was).

Unclviny

I’ve never seen any of these shows, and I voted for Jewel Staite…I think I’ll get Firefly just to watch her…

e: Whoa who knew I had such typical taste for a doper?

Mary Lynn Rajskub, not because she’s Chloe but because she’s Mary Lynn Rajskub.

The Willow in the later seasons is pretty hot. She is quite irresistable in season 7. It’s not just the look (which isn’t bad at all), but also the personality.

Willow?

Gotta go with Amy Acker. The costume and makeup people worked their tails off, trying to make her look frumpy. And they failed miserably.

But for shame, Skald. Not only did you forget Bailey from WKRP, you also forgot Mrs. Kotter.

BTW, despite Temperance Brennan’s various social dysfunctions, I have a hard time thinking of Emily Deschanel’s character on Bones as a geek.

Just wait 'til you get to the strawberry scene.

I’ll be in my bunk.

I didn’t forget them. I deliberately restricted myself to characters from the last decade. Upon review I probably should have omitted Hoshi Sato as well, as she is not especially socially awkward. If she is a geek, then so are Seven and T’Pol, both of whom I deliberately omitted because (a) they’re more conventional bombshells, and (b) they’re a bit too haughty to qualify as geeks, as someone observed upthread.

I don’t think the Angel costumers were trying to make Acker look frumpy, though I can perhaps imagine them trying to make her look less hot than Charisma Carpenter. She was, however, always supposed to be a little… off. No, make that quite a bit off. I don’t think we’re meant to believe she ever fully recovered from her experiences in Pylea.

I’m offended that Penelope Garcia is not on there - Criminal Minds.

Cause she’s curvy, brainy, and faboo. And she got Xander’s love chub going.

She’s another I consciously left out. But that’s mostly because I didn’t know her name, or the character’s name, or the show’s name, and the last time I put “blonde girl on that show with that guy from Chicago Hope,” into the Google search box, Sergey Brin came to my house and laughed in my face for, like, 20 minutes straight.

Also, she’s not actually hot.

C’mon. Felicia Day of “The Guild.” It’s WebTV, but it’s still TV.

I totally want to date her avatar.
