Hottest people who are also brilliant musicians

I think the people in this thread who are so enamored with Kate Bush might be a little blinded by her talent. I like her music, but she just does not have a pretty face. The fact that she’s so talented does make her more attractive in my eyes, but if she didn’t have that, I know I wouldn’t look twice if I saw her walking down the street. (Also, she has a knack for choosing the absolute worst hairstyles imaginable.)

How about Jeff Buckley? Amazing voice, and quite beautiful.

His father Tim was also brilliant. And beautiful. And left us far too soon.

I loved his folky albums, but saw him with a band–after Greetings from LA came out. Hotness personified.

Vanessa-Mae

She’s hot.

She’s a virtuoso.

And she’s hot.

Oh, I think Loeb is hot as all get out, but I wasn’t going to rate her as a “brilliant” musician. Don’t know her work that well beyond Stay and the one with the “Hello Kitty” vid

Well then shame on you. Her concerts are awesome (and not just for the hotness although she does give out hugs if you stick around afterward!) and The Way It Really Is (which does NOT have Stay or Hello Kitty on it) is one of my favorite albums.

Thank you. Thread closed. Listening to him now, as a matter of fact.

I could not disagree more.

Tomoko Kawase

and black hair doesn’t suit her

I’m pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve heard that said about a Japanese person

Anyway, I thought I’d add Taylor Swift. The girl’s smokin’ hot, and she definitely knows how to write a song. I heard on the radio that she was 14 when she wrote Our Song, and Picture to Burn is a brilliant “crazy ex-girlfriend” song.

What my sister likes about her is that, unlike previous unusually-young country singers like Tanya Tucker (debut album at 14 or 15) and Leann Rimes (12-13) she writes and sings “age appropriate” songs. She’s a teenage girl (18 now, I think) and she writes about things that are important to teenage girls.

And did I mention she’s hot?

Beck.

**Allison Moyet **

Already mentioned : Nick Cave

And a new one (realllly hooot) :

Nuno Bettencourt ( yesterday and today )

I’d like to add Roger Waters. He was a very odd-looking duck back in Floyd’s heyday, but he’s vastly improved with age.

Stevie Nicks.

Nobody thinks Harry Connick Jr. is hot? He’s definitely talented!

Andrew Bird used to be more hot, until he got a little older and developed more of a crazy guy look.

How insulting, to both Allison and akira5822. If this thread has shown anything, it’s different strokes for different folks (Kate Bush not beautiful, are you freaking kidding me?, Todd Rundgren hot, that’s crazy talk!) and I don’t know that your snark, even with a winkeye, maybe especially with a winkeye, wasn’t one of the biggest insults I’ve ever seen in Cafe Society. She’s not your type, fine, but she’s obviously akira’s type, and good for him. We need more people who see the beauty in unconventional women like Allison Moyet.

Wow. Three pages and no one has mentioned Annie Lennox.

Not sure what she looks like now, but back in the heyday of the Talking Heads, I had quite the crush on Tina Weymouth. And I think she’s an amazing bass player.

My wife has a life-sized oil painting of this headshot in the office. Got it from the Cash estate. I now realize that it is much better than I had thought and slightly less creepy.

I’ll nominate Audrey Solomon. Look her up.

Eddie Vedder has already been mentioned, but I feel the need to share this with everyone.

Also, Taylor Hanson. Nyah.
