Hey Justin, would you like a ride? E-mail me at some point.
So, who’s attending?
I’ll br there.
OK, it looks like we have four or five who’ve checked in recently, as well as several who popped in before this thread took about a week long nap.
Harvest time.
So, one more time.
Today.
2:00
Joe’s.
The really for real last time.
I’ll be there as well. Is there going to be a name for out table?
I’lll tell them Adams, and I’ve got a little sign that says “SDMB.”
Well, seein as I got up at 1:10 today (I swear I woke up at 8:40 and just was just resting my eyes…), that’s probably too late for a ride for me (an hour away from most places in Houston). Thanks for the offer, Mazur, maybe I’ll take you up on it next time. Have fun.
Ringo, all the sado-masochism mixup jokes right at ya.
Missed it again.
We’ve been without AC and hanging out in the Wellesley Suites all weekend. Couple of window units later, and i’m home, plotting the purchase of a few more. I refuse to put good money into central air for a house that hasn’t been through probate yet because the lawyer is an idiot.
I could live at the Wellesley Suites. The dataport isn’t quite as fast as cable modem, but it’s something.
Wanna try again when it isn’t 73million degrees in the shade?
Oh, I’m sure we’ll do it again, soon, Dee Dee.
It was fun, but I don’t think we’ll do Joe’s deck during the summer again. When we left it was 106°.
Yeah, Houston’s a little too far away from me. I’m going to be moving to San Antonio on August 15th (college weeeeeee!) so maybe things’ll be a bit more flexible for me then.
I was wonderin’ when y’all had taken leave of your senses…
Sorry I missed y’all. I got in my car to go to it and…dead battery. I had left my interior light on. Damn!
Yeah, I missed it too. In-laws and such got in my way. How was the turnout? Will we try again in a few months?
Small turnout - five of us (after I got there late). I had a similar problem to Blackeyes: I didn’t even know about the thing until 2 pm on Sunday. Still made it shortly after 3, and that was from Clear Lake.
Just as a followup to the conversation. I don’t know if this is worth its own thread, so I’ll post here. We were comparing the size of Europe to, say, Texas, so I pulled out my World Atlas and looked up some figures.
Texas = 268,601 sq mi.
I totaled various countries of Europe. One reasonable comparison:
France, Switzerland, and Austria = 259,528 sq mi.
Spain and Portugal = 230,401 sq mi
Germany and Poland = 258,550 sq mi
In other words, many of the countries are about the size of our states.
