House 10/11: Massage Therapy

A false identity is revealed, so says FOX’s website.

Should I spoiler at this point? Might as well.

Classic misdirection, which is, of course, what we expect from House. I always wonder just how accurate the media’s depiction of visual hallucinations is. I know that they vary from person to person but how realistic can the be, really? Besides, aren’t auditory hallucinations more common? Anyway, they didn’t really do much with her real illness, probably to avoid ruining the surprise, but I think it was worth more than a few music video visuals and one surreal gag.

Did anyone else recognize the male prostitute as the guy from the State Farm commercials?

I’m impressed (and perhaps a tad disappointed) at how hard House is working at making the relationship work. Giving up his favorite hooker massage therapist! That’s above and beyond, man.

At least he kept his grimace at having to deal with the slobbering, cane-munching rug rat.

Yes! So, which is the fake accent?

I’m still wondering if his final comment–“Aren’t you adorable”–was really sarcastic or if he truly dislikes this kid.
He appears to be babysitting in the next ep or so. We’ll find out.

Anybody want to give a bare-bones synopsis?

The House-Cuddy sub-story is about her disapproval of how he still uses the same massage therapist, a prostitute, as before they were a couple. He thinks it’s okay, since now he is only getting massages from her, and the happy endings from Cuddy. Cuddy disagrees. Meanwhile, he dislikes how she is keeping him at arms length from her kid. Not that he craves chumship with the brat, but doesn’t like being limited against his will.

There’s also a sub-plot about a perky blonde psychiatrist that Chase has hired to join the team, and something about a sick patient with a secret identity, too. But I was more focused on the House/Cuddy interactions.

Okay, much better synopsis here:

So, are they going to have Cuddy almost-nude in every episode now?

Let’s hope not. I hate “almost.”

Thanks so much for your synopsis and the link. I hate that you have to wait a week and a day to watch it on Hulu.

I was just coming back to ask that very question. Just by reading the synopsis it was hard to tell, but I guess it was just as hard to determine by watching.

Possibly all House fans already know about this site, but reviews of the medical stuff in each House episode can be found here: http://www.politedissent.com/house_pd.htm.

So, is Chase really stupid enough to think that he can lie to the new blonde and try to have a relationship with her and House won’t sabotage that with extreme prejudice?

When did Chase lie to the blonde?

Well, lie by omission. Remember, House said he could keep her and sleep with her, but she was quitting and said she didn’t date coworkers so he let her go without telling her she could stay on if she wanted.
