House 10/19

Agree, bagga. I enjoyed her part in the show, but I just can’t buy Wilson’s ongoing grieving over her! She wasn’t on the show that long, and we’re just being told (by Wilson) how they had this big, deep love affair. Can’t feel it, don’t buy it.

Pretty good episode with caveats.

The opening scene was idiotic and then some. I thought that Fox was doing a promo for some horrible cop show. Completely unbelievable and started things off wrong.

House can be a jerk, but only for the right reasons, e.g., someone has ticked him off. Messing around during rounds, endangering a patient, when none of the people in the room have done anything to deserve it is not-House. It is especially not the New and Improved House.

Who would have thought that Chase had a conscious?

Chase was a seminary student at one time with the intention of becoming a priest. He has major dilemmas with all kinds of morality issues.

House was trying to annoy the attending physician enough that he would sign off on his paperwork and House could get the hell out of there. That is definitely House. The patient wasn’t really in danger; House just made it seem as though she was in danger by setting off the alarm and panicking the students. Not New and Improved House, but not Mentally Ill House either. Just Asshole House 1.0.

So why would House turn in the form the same day? To show off to Cuddy? Intelligent House would know to wait a few weeks.

He knows he can usually manipulate Cuddy into just about anything. He wants to get his license back and doesn’t have any problems with shortcuts. All he wants is the signatures.

I don’t know about “Intelligent House.” Maybe “Recovering House” would. The “need it now” would seem to me to be an indication of the addict personality.

It does seem a bit over the top. On the other hand, we got to see in some of their scenes how Amber was actually a very good match for him, and someone he could have a more intimate and mature relationship with than past women he had been with. Add to that the unusual and dramatic circumstances surrounding her death…
