There have been several comments in recent shows about how Foreman is becoming like House. I think you’re right that he’s going to get taken down a few pegs and become less “House-like” in the supervisor role.
I read somewhere that the backstory is that House and Cuddy had a thing going (there was one line about him teaching where she was going to medical school), but they decided not to emphasize it too much. At least yet.
What you’re probably thinking of is the actress who plays Cuddy saying in an interview that it was always her interpretation and she was surprised when it turned out he had an ex wife. I don’t think they’ve actually got a history outside work though.
Actually, this ep was the first time I’ve ever seen House. Can somebody tell me what the backstory on his bad leg is?
It happened about 5 years ago, while he was living with Stacie. His leg started hurting very badly - he had a clot that was causing muscle death. Various doctors misdiagnosed him for a few days, and by the time they figured out what was wrong his leg needed to be amputated. He refused and insisted on another form of treatment that might possibly save his leg but was also very likely to kill him. The pain was so bad that he asked to be put into a medical coma. As soon as he went under, Stacie gave the docs permission to do a surgical procedure on his leg, described as a compromise measure. This surgery saved his leg (and probably his life) but left him with the severe pain he now experiences.
