House 2/3

I liked the bare bones of it. No MRI etc. I really liked the chemistry between Mira and House.

I also cracked up when CutThroat Bitch reappeared. I look forward to further commotion on Tuesday night.

I didn’t get the Bob thing. Can you explain, please?

The actor’s name is Robert Sean Leonard ?

I never really liked it either in the first couple of seasons for that very reason. I still think the medical aspect of it is kind of hokey, but I watch it for the banter which is very amusing at times. And the fact that House as a respected professional is way out there. I don’t expect you’d run into a guy like that in his position in real life. People like that generally fail spectacularly.

Actually, I have to say that one of the best lines of the whole episode was when Cameron suggested House might have to settle for regular broadcast TV, and House said, “Well, I’m OK on Tuesdays.”

Yeah, I still don’t get it. It seems like, unless we’re all acknowledging that it’s actors on T.V., there was no reason for House to say it at all. In an attempt to make an “inside joke” what they actually did is destroy the illusion of reality.

Unless there’s some reason within the show to call Wilson “Bob”.

On the other hand … Mira Sorvino is hot.

Layers of an onion, man… either you get it and appreciate it or you don’t. I’m fine either way. I found the Bob and Tuesday night references hysterical. YMMV.

I liked his choice of music while doing the “examination” - Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get It On.

THAT probably made me laugh more than anything else in the show, and I laughed at quite a bit.

I really, really don’t like Cutthroat Bitch, and even though her appearance was a cool surprise because of the reaction it got out of House, I am going to be highly annoyed every second she remains on my television screen. There is a huge difference between characters “you love to hate” and characters with no redeeming value whatsoever.

How sad is it that I’ve been watching House since season 1 and I still think of Wilson as “that kid from Dead Poets Society”?

He’s also that kid from Swing Kids. :stuck_out_tongue:

See I never saw that (or have ever heard of it until you mentioned it just now.)

His role in Dead Poets Society stood out to me because I’d just played Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and still had all the lines memorized, so during the scenes where he is in the play, I sort of had a one-sided bonding moment with him, so he’s sort of permanently that guy for me.

Damnit, I totally forgot “House” was on! I really wanted to see this one, because the previews looked confusing. (Isn’t there always an MD at Pole?)

They’re rerunning it on Friday, or you can google House MD online and find it streaming on unofficial sites. (That’s what we did to see the ending, because TiVo cut it off since it started late.)

I, too, hate, loathe, despise and abominate Cuthroat Bitch. She is supposed to be a female House, but she’s not, at all. ugh.

Thanks for that, I’ll try to catch it on Friday. My DVR recorded from 9:15-10:15, which was mostly Superbowl stuff.

Was this episode inspired by the real-life case of the woman at the south pole who found a lump in her breast? It was aggressive breast cancer and she treated herself until they could get her out, months later: Jerri Nielsen

Well, cut-throat bitch might not be the best character (though it will be interesting to see how she is when she’s not in a competition of some sort.) But I’m glad that they’re bringing back some of the “Survivor” people. The three he chose were really some of the blander characters.

I’d like to see Big Love and Old Dude back (though not as Wilson’s date.)

I thought that the device for getting the other doctors out of the way so that House would be interacting directly with the patient was kind of lame. I’m not complaining, though, because the interaction was fun, and it ended up meaning more Wilson, of which I always heartily approve.

As for Cutthroat Bitch, (Wilson: “I call her Amber”), it was a good surprise (I was honestly expecting Thirteen to walk in), and if next week’s episode is the last until the strike is resolved, it may not matter for a while anyway.

Does “unofficial sites” mean illegal, bootleg streaming of a copyrighted tv show? I hope that’s not what you’re saying – unless the producers of the show are okay with it.
