House 3/7

He wasn’t actually having sex with the cows; that was his made-up story to cover for the fact that he wanted to do his (step)mom. His falsehoods led to the great line by House “Either you hit yourself in the leg with a 2x4 or Bessy has a peg leg.”

Great episode, but my heart breaks for Wilson. I completely understand his relationship with House, and it’s an awful place to be.

The thing about Wilson is that in season 1, he had similar difficulties (Wilson was sleeping around)… House chided him for it then…

The thing about this episode that was different is that it was House being wrong and assuming that Wilson was again cheating and lying about it… so he was being a ‘friend’ in the sense that he was telling Wilson to straighten up… With House’s assumption that it was Wilson doing the cheating, he told Wilson that if he needed a freind that bad, he shouldnt have done what he done in the first place… of course, House was wrong about that.

Cowboy wanted to be chemically castrated to stop his feelings for his (step?)mom… that’s a pretty severe step to take, did House actually perscribe the drug to do that at the end?

Think so. The patient did mention it was only for three months, and steroid users routinely use (and shut down their nads) for as long, if not longer, though measures need to be taken afterwards to make sure the boys don’t stay shrivelled and atrophied forever.

Okay…I fell asleep and I can’t for the life of me figure out what happened from this thread. The last I saw was Howard Hessman needed a new heart, and a guy’s wife was dead and the organ lady wasn’t delicate about telling the widower.

Then what?

According to closed captioning it was Taj Mahal.

But closed captioning has been very wrong before, especially when it comes to music.

My synopsis, spoiled to avoid any upset:
So this guy needs a new heart. The hospital turns him down for a transplant. So House takes this as a license to look for a heart the hospital doesn’t want and put it in him. He finds an overweight woman with other problems that the hospital has declined the use of her organs. She’s basically a vegetable and her husband wants her off the ventilator. House stops him, then uses some trickery and underhanded manipulation (in House style) by having the young daughter meet the guy and thank him for the organs (before he’s consented to letting them be used).

The guy consents, knees House in the balls, and storms off. Thus House sets about trying to heal the dead woman. First she has this, then that, then they find out it’s Gonorrhea and so they set about trying to get it out of her system. They figure it will take 5 to 6 hours to get it out before they can do the transplant. Then the dude drops into a coma.

House calls for an emergency transplant, gets the 2 ORs and they make the transplant before the Gonorrhea is gone, so the guy has it when he wakes up. His wife is back and his daughter has apparently forgiven him.

House and his team initially lie to the husband of the dead wife about the gonorrhea because they thought she got it from some indiscretions with a student at school. After they take her heart, they are about to tell him and he comes out with the story. He gave it to her after a one night stand on a business trip.

Also through the episode House had been harassing his buddy about the apparent affair. House was ragging on him and busting his chops mercilessly. At the end of the episode House has cranked his music and the dude shows up on his doorstep with bags packed. House’s immediate words are “You told her.” And his friend says, “No, she told me.” Apparently she’s been having an affair on him.
Hope that fills you in

Wow. Stupid sleep! I feel so ripped off.

It happens

That went something like:

He wasn’t referring to the imagined affair, he was talking about Wilson’s choice to befriend House. Sort of, “Of course you’ll only get snide sarcastic remarks from me – that’s my thing. If you wanted to have a tearful heart-to-heart with someone, you should have made friends with Cameron or something. I’m not your guy.”

Yup, he did. “Okay, but grad night isn’t going to be any fun at all.” And I think it’s pretty clear by how torn-up the guy was that he was talking about his actual carried-him-to-term mother. If it was just his step-mother, the resistance would have come from not wanting to betray the never-mentioned father. That anguished “She’s my mom!” seemed pretty clear. Not, “But she’s my dad’s wife!

I don’t think anyone would consider such extreme measures to avoid banging a hot step-mom.

I went and listened to the Taj Majal clip of the song via Amazon, and it did indeed sound just like the song used in the show.

Thanks for the info, fellow viewers/listeners.
