House babysits Cuddy’s kid.
Oh, and there might be some medical stuff too.

Just one bump so we don’t have to merge threads every week.
It’s gotta be House and Wilson playing dads together, right?
As my luck goes, ten minutes in to this episode my television went POP and then she was gone. Second missed episode in a row. I should not think about it for two weeks and just catch it all up on Hulu.
Bad ending…just kinda…happened.
Agreed about the ending with the mom, but otherwise I’ve liked this episode best so far this season. The House/Wilson stuff was great, and Cuddy’s kid is pretty cute.
I liked when House fired Foreman’s new hire just to make a point (total asshole move and totally House), and I liked that Dr. Cheng called Taub out on using her to play House’s game.
House is a brilliant doctor and all, but he is a rank amateur when it comes to being a boyfriend. I learned long ago, when asked to perform an odious task, you do it cheerfully, but FUCK IT UP royally. And you certainly don’t hide your fuck up. You *own *it.
I’ve been asked by many girlfriends to do the dishes. But never twice!
PS - Taub continues to be my favorite character. He conveys more subtleties with the slightest eye movement than the rest of the cast can muster with their whole bodies. He’s the Burton Guster of House.
If harvesting the mother’s blood provided enough blood to treat the child why didn’t they suggest that to the mother, perform the surgery and give her a fresh blood supply? Then both the mother and child would have survived. Hope the daughters sues.
Because they harvested ALL the mother’s blood - it’s unethical to the point even House wouldn’t approve to drain all the blood out of a living patient, you know?
The Vampire House would have no problem with it.
I thought it was going to be one of those things where the daughter is unable to carry the baby so her mother is the surrogate. What the hell was Jennifer Grey doing having a baby?
Loved Wilson climbing out the window. But there is no way House doesn’t know that coins aren’t magnetic.
I wondered that too. How much blood could a newvorn possibly need for nine days of treatment.
I think you could drive a Wilson Tractor with a House attached through that plot hole.*
*and, yes, I’ve been waiting months to use that line
I missed the very last minute or two. I saw right to where Rachael was crying and House said it was Cuddy’s turn, then my DVR stopped. I have my expectation, but can someone spoil it for me please?
I liked the episode a lot too, with the Wilson and House both playing parents miserably. The subplot with Taub was also amusing, especially since Foreman called it right after having been squashed earlier.
I do wish they’d put a bit more into the actual medical mystery though. It felt a bit disjointed, House’s “Aha” moment was mid-episode and didn’t really solve the case, and the drama between the mom and the daughter didn’t have much depth, so the resolution at the end wasn’t satisfying at all.
That is exactly what I thought during that scene. Took me right out of the story and made me think about how big a goof that was by the writers.
My favorite episode this season. Probably because it was low on Huddy and high on Wilson. The POTW was boring but it didn’t interfere with the babysitting hijinks!
Usually, name portmanteaus are terms of affection, i.e. “Oh Huddy!”
In previous threads, displeasure at the coupling spawned a new term, “Huddy-beast”. I propose a new portmanteau for those cases: CHUDdy.
How old are the actresses (Kayla/Rylie Colbert) who play Rachel? Cute, yes, but way too big/old for a supposed two-year-old!
Cuddy can be heard off screen speaking to Rachael, “Did you make a poopie? Oh, my goodness, when did you eat a dime?” Rachael giggles. “House.” House has “Oh, shit” look on his face.
i’ve got a chuddy for cuddy.
the magnetic slip up didn’t bother me. despite 7 seasons of miraculous diagnoses, he is just human after all.
i thought cuddy’s kid was way too old as well. she looked darn near 4, and still needy poopy changes?
Actually, I think I have yet to hear this baby cry. I have no experience with babies, that is zero, but it seems to me that was just a little nighttime babbling noise she was making. Do parents really get up and check on that? I know parents get used to the sounds their kids make and what they mean, but really, that kid was not crying.
Also, Sherlock Holmes fans will remember that Holmes had no idea that the Earth revolved around the sun. It was irrelevant to solving crimes, so he had no interest in the topic. Maybe House is the same way about numismatics.
