Whoa! I didn’t know they were a real-life item. Go figure.
I’m going to guess that House gets back on the meds since Amber’s no longer around, and when Cuddy confronts him on it, he’s just going to say he made it all up to get in her pants. Cuddy’s going to cry, House will turn his back to leave and they’ll cut to a pained expression on his face, and their dysfunctional friendship will start anew.
Everyone knows the death of any good show is when the two main characters who have been driving the sexual tension for the entire show end up getting together. Happened to Night Court.
Apparently they went far beyond kissing. And though I agree with you, I’d definitely make an exception for Hugh Laurie. Cuddy’s no fool.
I’m betting that everything happening in House’s subplot after “Goodnight, Wilson” turns out to be a detox hallucination. If he hallucinates Amber when he needs some cruel honesty, why wouldn’t he hallucinate Cuddy when he needs company/comfort? He’s the type to face his addiction alone.
As for Cameron, she didn’t have to tell him. She chose to be honest, and to replace her old security blanket with “him”. Chase is a naive romantic, and has lived a fairly spoiled rotten life. He just hasn’t ever had reality slap him in the face like she has. (Caveat: I missed the whole first season, so if I’m wrong please fill me in.)
Re: Timing - it’s not unusual to bank sperm or eggs before receiving chemo or radiation. They could have been in love, but not yet married and made the decision to bank them. Her decision to keep them after he died is a little different, unless he had agreed to it in advance. . .
P.S. I predict the apology comes back to bite him, and he faces a court case from the ballerina in the next season.
P.P.S Even Hugh would have to brush his teeth first. Ewwwww!
They were engaged in the past but broke it off.
Hell, they were going to cut the arms and legs off that little girl that one time, till House figured it out as the scalpel hovered above her shoulder.
Well there’s the whole “guilt over alcoholic mother drinking herself to death, feeling abandoned by his father when he needed him and father dying of cancer without even telling him he was sick” thing (or things). Cameron is more of a fool sentimentalist (she was ridiculous with her treatment of patients more than once) than Chase, but he’s more of an optimist.
I also think she has serious control issues and fears the future as, ultimately, you can’t plan for everything.
Definitely incorrect; his high-profile doctor dad left Chase and his hugely alcoholic mother when he was a teen. Chase’s mom was psychotic (probably as a result of the alcohol) and eventually drank herself to death a couple years later. Dad basically had nothing to do with him after leaving, and cut him out of his will before dying of cancer (that he never told Chase about, and never reconciled with him despite visiting with Wilson after being diagnosed), leaving him penniless. Chase was in the seminary before becoming a doctor; we don’t know why he left, but he makes reference a lot to having failed a test of faith.
Chase is certainly not the character I would describe as spoiled rotten and having never had a reality slap. Cameron, yes, but Chase no.
TruCelt, TPTB have already assured us that nothing that’s taking place with Cuddy is a dream/hallucination/fakeout. Sure, they could be lying, but it would be easier to just not say anything than out-and-out lie.
Dr Drake/Omega Glory, IMO the whole frozen-sperm subplot serves one purpose: it furthers the ongoing Cameron Has Relationship Issues thread- she will come up with any way to test Chase just to prevent herself from having to actually make a decision or commit to him. Look at her behavior from the other week- instead of just saying to Chase that she found the ring and is freaked out by it, she sets up this whole drama involving everyone around her and ultimately forces Chase to behave in the way she needs him to- he (temporarily) leaves her, thereby validating her belief that nothing is ever going to work out. When that didn’t work, she went to the next Potential Deal-Breaker: what man is not going to freak out at the thought that the woman they want to spend their life with potentially wants to have a child with another man, let alone The Sanctified Dead Husband? And then to be reduced to nothing but a donor: ‘Okay, I’ll marry you, I suppose, but would you mind jerking off in this cup first so when something horrible happens to you, or when you leave me, I can still reproduce?’ (note: not ‘if’, but ‘when’- that’s an important distinction in Cameron’s world). She’s crazy as batshit, and I would sell my soul if it would convince TPTB to kill her off in a gloriously horrible bloody way.
Kim Possible pulled it off pretty well.
Though Hugh Laurie doesn’t have as nice a midriff.
Well, this show was pretty good. Too bad I’ve got to stop watching it now. Unless House does something assholeish beyond belief to Cuddy and somehow brings things back to the way they were, the entire dynamic of the show is askew.
Cameron looks nice, but god damn, the girl’s got issues.
Speaking of which, am I the only one who preferred her with darker hair? I keep hoping she’ll change it back.
She had darker hair?
He’s got nice legs, though.
Yep.
She is a natural blond in real life. She said they dyed her hair dark in the series because they wanted her to be more ‘serious’. I like her blond hair, she matches up well with Chase (though he’s still better looking than her). They will have beautiful kids, if they ever have any…
I didn’t notice.
…Wait, she has hair?
Not necessarily – they could have been together, just not married when he got sick. She knew he was sick when they married, but not when they met.

The medical stuff keeps being a sticking point for me. They can’t do a puncture to take a biopsy of the liver because of her skin issue. But slicing her open to get at her heart is okay. Umm, anything they’d like to explain to us here?
Knowing that Chase and Cameron broke up in real life makes the love-chat scenes kind of awkward to watch.
Bye-bye CB.
Right, I just mean if they weren’t married yet, did they really bank it because they wanted to have kids some day? Maybe he just banked it in general because of the infertility risk and it became “her husband’s sperm”.
