HOUSE Fans: Monday this week

Got it; Ryan Adams.

Also: We haven’t really seen the last of Stacy, have we?

Errr…in the offseason, that is.

snerk!

Awwww, do you miss Stacy too?

That was the best part. One of the best lines in any episode yet. It just made the penultimate scene that much more awesome. I should’ve known Cuddy wouldn’t actually give him what he asked for.

I could have done without the underpants, though.

OK, that didn’t come out at all right.

Whew…now lets just hope Monstre doesn’t see this thread.

I only ever seem to get House on USA Network, which is showing the first season, I think. I’ve seen the last three weeks, and have my DVR set to record any eps that come on. What network is it usually shown on? Perhaps my local channel doesn’t show it.

FOX here.

This was the first episode I watched. I enjoyed it. It had a few jarring moments, like the incredibly quick way in which he figured Dad was doing the daughter - especially when the reason for believing it was totally wrong.

I don’t get what the deal is with House. Can someone explain? Why does he walk with a cane? Why does he have no thigh muscle? And since he doesn’t, how come a placebo worked on him? What’s his backstory?

Maybe I’ll just search some back threads for the answer.

I’m not seeing it on my local Fox station. Are any Nashville Dopers watching this?

House explained how his leg got injured last season. Basically he had a severe pain in his leg that was misdiagnosed and he had an infarction in his thigh muscle. He didn’t want his leg amputated, so he’s living with a severely atrophied thigh.

As for the increased pain, we don’t know what’s causing it and the doctors don’t either and it might be related to him “breaking up” (in a sense) with his old girlfriend (who was married).

Well, I think it’s pretty clearly shown that the increased pain is wholly psychosomatic as a result of Stacy hitting the pavement.

What was especially delicious about what Cuddy did was that House couldn’t legitimately complain because he had just done the same thing to the patient. Go Cuddy!

I didn’t much like this episode. House can’t tell the difference between a morphine injection and a saline injection? As observant (and suspicious) as he is, that was hard to believe.

I agree Cameron is getting annoying. And with her hairstyle and the lace collar last night she looked like George Washington.

I did like Wilson making House laugh in the MRI.

I predicted that ending from the preview last week. The whole supermodel thing with a “*gasp, Oh my God!” I thought “supermodel” just had to be a male. I had to send an IM to a friend of mine just to announce that before the show so I could bask in the glory of predicting the end.

I loved it when House walked up to the father and blurted out, in front of everyone, “Are you doing your daughter?” The concept of someone doing something so socially awkward had me laughing for two minutes. Also, it was at the expense of the dad, which I found quite entertaining.

I liked Cameron up until she tried drugs and had sex with Chase. Prior to that, she seemed like the model of integrity, but then she lowered herself to the same level as everyone else, so her sense of “doing the right thing” now just comes across as egotism.

Hopefully, you would dress better. (who wears vest suits and ruffly shirts? Why?)

Well, but that’s what makes the show. It’s not the plots…because they’re all the same. Here’s the standard House plot:

Guy is walking along and collapses, with blue spots all over his face. He’s taken to the hospital.

Doctors (except for House):It’s a cold! No, it’s the flu! It’s a hangnail!

Doctors give the guy an anti-hangnail pill and he has a seizure. They do more tests.

House: So, patient, how are you feeling?

Patient: Not bad. I wish I had a crabapple, though.

House (to the other doctors): You’re all idiots. The patient obvliously has diverticulated reticulitus of the liver. There’s only been one previously recorded case, a Nigerian boy named Bonbo who died from it in 1560 and who liked crab apples. The only treatment is to drain out all of his blood and replace it with anti-freeze.

Doctors: But House, if you’re wrong, he’ll die!

House: While you waste your time with your tests, he’ll die! This is the only way to save his life, and if any of didn’t get your medical degrees from Sally Struthers, you’d know that!

House then drains the guy’s blood and injects him with anti-freeze, and he gets better.

Yeah, Cameron definitely had a schoolmarm thing going on, and it really didn’t work for her. But I really enjoyed it when she was confronting the patient about sleeping with her father and all those other guys, and the patient asked her if she’d never gone after her boss, or someone that had something she needed. That shut her up.

I’m also really liking Wilson lately. He seems to be the only one who can talk to House in any meaningful way.
