She watches House Hunters International on DirecTV. We live in NW Idaho. More and more often, she finds that the DTV Program Guide episode listings for HHI are incorrect. They will list a certain episode (for example, #HHINT-106: “More Room Needed In Malmo”) for a certain day and time, but when she watches it an entirely different episode airs. DTV’s little INFO button generates a pop-up that incorrectly says she’s watching “More Room Needed In Malmo.”
Maybe it is a DirecTV thing, as our cable DVR lists things correctly for House Hunters International (one of our great guilty pleasures!).
One suggestion - is your provider using EST for their listings? Sometimes providers get lazy or the auto time change doesn’t work and they will list a program in a different time zone. Just a thought.
I’m thinking it’s a question of who garbles the schedule- HGTV before they send it to DTV, or DTV after they’ve received it.
Nope, but thank you for the suggestion. To clarify my example with an imaginary one:
According to the DTV Program Guide, Monday’s 9pm HHI episode will be “Tokyo.”
We watch Monday at 9pm, and the episode is “Miami.”
We press the DTV “INFO” button (which generates a pop-up telling you what you’re watching Right Now); the pop-up says we’re watching the “Tokyo” episode.
I sent DTV an email yesterday, and their reply was to try resetting our receiver, and then contact Tech Support if the problem persists.
I suspect “reset the receiver” is a generic catch-all first step, although in the past it has resolved some problems (We’ve been with DTV for four or five years now). It’s worth as try, provided we won’t be sacrificing our recorded programs, but we’re skeptical.
