I can’t get my hands on a video or DVD of House Party at the moment, to check out a certain scene.
When Kid leaves the party and is being chased (again) by those three thugs, he runs through a house. As I remember it, it was shot with a (fast-moving) steadicam, and appeared kind of anamorphic, so you couldn’t quite see things clearly, but I think there was a coffin in the front room, a poker game in the kitchen, and a bedroom door open just enough to reveal noise, movement, or both.
I think the implication was supposed to be that high school parties are one thing: you dance, you make out, someone smuggles in malt liquor. But adult parties? You don’t wanna know.
Anyone remember this? Am I remembering it correctly?
