I also vote for the Richmond strip, and I don’t foresee a problem with either of those dates. Last year we did it on my birthday (the 27th) or the day after, which made for a very busy weekend.
Either date works for me. Nov 6 probably works better, since I have to work on my presentation on the 13th, but I can make it to either one. Richmond strip would be much more convenient than Kemah, as a student inside the loop (who doesnt know where kemah really is…)!
Our “traditional” spot (ie, the last two Houdopes ) have been at Joe’s Crab Shack on Richmond.
However, I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it. Weekends these days are pretty much tied up with movie rehearsals and training, and the occasional tournament. I’m definitely not good for the 13th, and the 6th is very iffy.
Okay, it appears that the best day for all to attend would be November 6, and the Richmond Strip is the unanimous choice for location. As to a time, how does 4:00 work for everyone?
As Clothahump mentioned, Joe’s Crab Shack has been our meeting place in the past. Do we want to meet there, or does anyone else have other ideas? I live in the Clear Lake area and don’t get up to the Richmond Strip very often (i.e. I don’t really know what’s up there), so I will defer to everyone on this.
Let me know what you think.
Oh, and Clothahump, I hope you (and everyone else) can make it!
The Richmond Strip is rapidly disappearing, actually. Ever since downtown became the cool new destination for clubs and restaurants, lots of places on Richmond have closed and haven’t been replaced with anything. I think I miss Chuy’s the most!
But Joe’s is still there and going strong. In fact, they were open on Thursday, September 22nd, when everything else was closed for Hurricane Rita. The manager, a busser, and one waitress were the whole waitstaff, and they did an awesome job!
There probably are more central locations inside the Loop, but I’m not as familiar with that area anymore.
Really? I didn’t know that. I would imagine that that is pretty expensive (and desirable) real estate. With as many people that live on that side of town, those buildings certainly won’t stay vacant for long.
Am I to assume then that Joe’s has your vote, cbawlmer? BTW, how much does a cold, frosty beer run at Joe’s?
