How are the Clinton hating dems feeling now?

…what is the Democrat plan to protect trans people in states like Florida, Texas and Virginia?

So you’re done with your dumbass Dianne Feinstein tantrum?

Glad that’s over with. Give me a minute to catch up to these goal posts.

I dunno, man. You’re trying to use the success of a progressive governor as a stick to beat progressives for saying that the Democratic party needs to pursue more progressive policies if they want to be successful.

Maybe he’s not the stupid one here.

…I didn’t have a “dumbass Dianne Feinstein tantrum.” I provided a cite, and made the case that the Democrats have known that Feinstein hasn’t been well for years and didn’t do anything about it.

There is no plan.

I’ve answered the question for you.

I didn’t even realize you were doing a bit until this part.

I’m not really doing any of those things.

He asserted that Democrats were ineffective in certain areas and I pointed to some successes in those exact areas. One of those successes occurred in Michigan hours before my post so I made it a Gretchen Whitmer theme. I’m a big fan of Gov. Whitmer.

That in no way indicates that there aren’t Democratic successes from coast to coast and in between.

e.g.

It’s like they’re working together toward some common goal. Like a plan or a strategy or something.

You’ve moderate a board that @TriPolar has posted on for a long time. You know who the stupid one is.

Hey! The Mods are volunteers. There’s no need to call them stupid.

Quick question for you on this very successful coast-to-coast strategy. Why are a bunch of individual states passing abortion legislation recently?

Yeah, and that plan is “push progressive policies and positions.” Like we told you you should have been doing six years ago. Glad you’re finally onboard. Too bad you couldn’t get there in time to stop Trump from becoming president.

To protect abortion rights in the wake of the Dobbs ruling. Is that a real question? Have you been paying attention?

Sir, I am drawing your razor-sharp intellect to one of the most obvious catastrophic failures of the Democrats nationally.

So the Democrats have a plan and it’s a plan you favor and you’re still pissed off.

No pleasing some people.

I’m aware of it. Thank you.

Not super relevant to any current discussion in this thread.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to blame the people that didn’t vote for Clinton in the general election rather than those that did?

That was the chance to stop Trump, and the Democrats who stayed home or voted third party dropped the ball.

The fact that Democrats did not pass federal legislation to protect abortion, or manage to do anything at any time to prevent one of the most popular and important precedents we had from just being kicked directly over like a trash can isn’t relevant, in a thread entitled “How are the Clinton hating dems feelings now?”, to whether progressives should shut up because of how good the Democrats are doing?

This is a fantasy goal. There was no time in the past that it was possible to do this in a way that would have been even marginally effective.

Democrats right now are doing the things that you want them to do. I don’t want you to shut up about it. I want you to celebrate it.

Big win in Michigan yesterday on gun safety.

Another big win on gun safety in Colorado is imminent.

Illinois had their big win back in January.

These are all great news. Please don’t shut up about them.

The things you want to happen are happening. The ball is moving in the right direction.

This is all magical thinking, man. When you guys talk about Republicans’ actions, or when you talk about the state of the country pre-election, you gain an incredible level of clarity and say “we are living in a fascist theocracy and drastic measures are needed.”

When you talk about Democrats’ actions post-election, no drastic measures having occurred, you’re like “everything is great actually.”

The things we want aren’t happening. That’s the beginning and the end of it.

No, I’m pissed off at lukewarm centrists who stand in the way of any positive change in the Democratic party, and then try to steal credit for it when the change happens despite their best efforts.

Gretchen Whitmer is a progressive governor. Her success is a refutation of the old guard of the party, and a demonstration that the criticism about Clinton’s weaknesses as a candidate were right all along. It is justifiably frustrating to see the success of progressive policies co-opted by centrists who then turn around and use it as a cudgel on the very progressives who were pushing for these changes all along.

And now we’ve settled the question of who the stupid one is in this thread.

Once you realize that the Democratic Party cannot fail, only be failed (by voters) or stabbed in the back (by the Left), everything becomes clear.

Drastic measures have definitely occurred. It’s bizarre that you think I’m advancing that view.

I’m sorry you didn’t want big wins on gun safety in Colorado, Illinois, and Michigan. I assumed you were for these things, but apparently you’re some kind of monster. I’ll keep that in mind.
