I liked the first two seasons of this show but then it took a weird turn before going straight downhill.
I don’t remember exactly which season it was, but Christian and Sean had moved to Los Angeles and Sean was becoming a minor celebrity and Christian was jealous, hijinks ensued.
I stopped watching in the middle of that season and completely missed the proceeding seasons I skipped entirely, confident they were outlandish and stupid. So how correct was I?
I was going to start a thread about Nip/Tuck, but I got sidetracked and blew it off. Is it even worth watching? I was poking around on EZTV looking for something new to watch and torrented the first season. I watched most of the pilot and lost interest. Should I give it a shot or go find something else? I gathered from the pilot that this is one of those shows that I’ll have to add to the can’t-watch-while-eating-dinner list, along with Bones.
I really liked the show when it was set in Miami, but when they “moved” to LA, I stopped watching a couple episodes after that. Obviously, it was too difficult or complicated to actually do research to make sure there were Miami-references in there so it really seemed like the people were living in Miami. They all acted like they were in LA anyway, and shows about self-involved people living in LA are like a dime a dozen and suddenly, there wasn’t anything interesting about it.
That and the whole slasher who doesn’t have genitals plot line was just too over the top stupid for me.
I’m wondering if anyone got through all the seasons and how was it?
I was a huge fan of Nip/Tuck and Ryan Murphy’s first show ‘Popular’ (enough to name my dog after a character) but this episode really turned me off from him and his shows. Coco IS www.wendyho.net Ryan Murphy saw her act, completely copied it, and never gave her an ounce of credit. Wendy Ho’s “I Stole Yo Purse,” which was a featured video on Logo’s ‘NewNowNext,’ is copied almost shot for shot.
I watched the whole series in rapid succession. Perhaps if I’d had to wait between seasons it would have been different but I found the last two seasons pretty unpleasant.
The move to LA really does seem like the easiest place to point and say “stop there.”
I’m conscious of having liked the earlier seasons much better than the later seasons, but not necessarily better than a lot of other shows. I think a lot of what I responded to was the shock value. Everyone on the show seemed to utterly embrace his shallowness. It was kinds of refreshing, until it got tiresome.
