How bad is this? (work related)

The Sherwin-Williams “Cover the Earth” logo with a paint can pouring red paint over the globe is ancient, beginning as an in-house drawing in 1893 and becoming the official corporate logo in 1905–so you’re about 100 years late in complaining about that. In 1974, Sherwin Williams developed a logo for their retail stores that was based on simply the names Sherwin and Williams, one over the other, in blue-on-white over white-on-blue. In 1979, the “Covers the Earth” logo was resurrected, then, in 1982, the more recent logo was combined with the original logo, with red paint covering a white on blue globe.

Although their home page has a large logo with no white on it (blue oceans and black land masses), the white only appearing on the small logo in the upper left corner of the page with white oceans and blue land masses), so I don’t think they can be accused of rampant chauvinism even if they are trying to buy into our nationalistic fantasies in a small way.
