How big is a package of peas?

About as wet as an umbrella? No, I’ve got it - it’s as blue as a burp. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve got a recipe that calls for two packages of frozen peas, but I have no clue how big a “package” is. Around here, frozen veggies usually come in plastic bags holding one or two pounds, but I have dim memories of more box-like packages that were probably less than a pound, and I think the recipe is old enough to be from that era.

About 12 oz, I think.

That era? They’re still very common where I live.

Birdseye sells 10 oz boxes of frozen peas.

Yes, I think 10-12 oz. is the general standard. I doubt a couple of ounces either way will make a whole lot of difference.

My advice would be that if peas come in multiple size packages, start by adding two of the smaller packages or the equivalent, and if that doesn’t look like enough, add more.

The store-brand (Shop Rite) boxes in my freezer are 10oz.

Sounds like one pound will be just enough then. (Or at least enough that it’s not worth breaking open a second bag for a couple more ounces.)

Thanks!

If it’s not toolate, you could post the recipe and get Dopers’ advice on it.
