I post a lot in SDMB. Every time I post, before I hit “Submit” I have to remember to click on the arrow in the “Notfication type” box below the posting window and choose “Do not subscribe” – because the default setting is “Instant e-mail notification” and I already get more e-mail than I want. I hate having to do that every single time I post. Is there some way I can change the default setting, or permanently disable the “Instant e-mail notification” option?
Go to your User CP (top left), click Edit Options in the navigation bar to the left, then scroll down to “Default Thread Subscription Mode”. Pull down the dropdown list and select “Do Not Subscribe” or whatever default option you wish, then click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
