I’m sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn’t find the information. I have only subscribed to threads twice. The first time I didn’t get email notifications when new posts were added. This time I did. I don’t know what I did differently. I looked on the user control panel, and couldn’t figure out how to stop the email notification. Can someone help me out?

Click on **Quick links ** on the SDMB menu bar.
Click on Edit Options
The second Box is Messaging & Notification.
In the Default Thread Subscription Mode select **No Email notification ** from the pull down list.

Hm. I’m not sure this was the correct thing to do. Changing it on the pulldown menu from “Do Not Subscribe” to “No email notification” had the effect of subscribing me to every thread I post to … though I do not receive an email notifcation. And, I’m still getting email notifications regard the thread that I did subscribe to.

I did not understand the question.
For the specific thread in question, can you try unsubscribing to it and then subscribe to it again. This time ensure the Notification type is No Email notification.
