I’d love to download and save some Instagram pictures. Is it possible to do this without paying for software? (These are pictures that friends that I follow on Instagram. I have an account.)
I’m trying to do this for a surprise anniversary party in about a month.
Here’s a somewhat tedious but sure-fire way.
Right-click on any blank area of the page, and select “View page source.” To make it somewhat easier, you can then hit Control-F, and search for “.jpg”–this will find the pictures a little quicker.
Copy the direct URLs for the pictures into a new tab–in Instagram’s case, you’ll have to remove a bunch of forward slashes from each one. After this, you can simply right-click to save like normal.
There’s a website called Instaport Me if I remember correctly. You log in with your Instagram credentials and it will export your pictures into a zipped file. It takes quite a while, if I recall (I have a ton of pictures)
I am sure there are a couple of other services, but Instaport’s what I’ve used. It’s: instaport.me/
Note–the pictures may not be full resolution, size, etc.–I’m pretty sure they’re compressed upon upload to Instagram.
Googling “Download instagram pictures” serves up some alternative services to try out.
Oh, crap. Didn’t read the OP carefully. I thought you wanted to download your own Instagram pictures. Snipping tool and view page info to find the jpg is what I would do, and yes, would be tedious. Sorry.
You can also just press the Print Screen (or PrtScn) key on your keyboard, then open MS Paint or your image editor of choice and either crtl-V or right-click -> paste. Then just crop the image and save. That works for pretty much any image you can view on your screen.
