How to get a picture from email into jpg ?

OK, I have AOL (don’t laugh.) Someone took a picture with their iPhone, and emailed it to me. I would like to get it into PhotoShop to fiddle with. How the heck do I do that?

I try highlighting the picture, then COPY and then PASTE, that doesn’t work. There must be some way to save as a jpg? Help, please?

You need to download the picture to your computer first.

Right-click, choose “Save image as…”. Make sure you know where it’s being saved.

Assuming it won’t let you download it for some reason, use Irfanview and do a screen capture. Or in Windows use Print Screen and paste to Paint.

Can you right click it and select ‘save as’ (or ‘save image as’ in Firefox), stick it on the desktop then open with Photoshop?

When you right click is here ‘copy’ option? If so, click that.

Then in Photoshop create a new file. Photoshop is clever in that it sets the dimensions to whatever’s in the clipboard. then right click and click ‘paste’.

According to this article, having an AOL email account makes you “hopelessly square.”

Perhaps you need to have a makeover from What Not To Wear? I hear GMail is the going thing for 2010. Shall we set you up with Stacy and Clinton?

The article doesn’t say that at all. Some headline writer stuck that phrase on an article that asks a similar question and then answers “no.”

Yeah. Someone sent me a photo from a phone maybe three weeks ago, and right-clicking to save didn’t work for me. It saved itself as a Firefox document which was all garbled code when I opened it. I didn’t have the option to save in any other format. I then right-clicked copy, and pasted into a blank document using photo program and it worked.

You might have more luck going through AOL’s web interface than their software.

Go to pictures downloaded from aol folder.
