How can I just see Hulu ads with Adblock?

I think it’s fair enough that I watch the ads on Hulu. I’m getting it for free, just as over the air, and it’s ad-supported and relatively unintrusive and I have no problem with watching the ads and think I owe it to them. I don’t think it’s fair enough that I watch the ads elsewhere. Okay? So I don’t want to have to restart Firefox to watch Hulu with Adblock disabled, and I’m using the default US ad blocker set and can’t figure out how precisely to unblock Hulu. I’ve been getting those “You bad boy!” screens instead of ads when I watch, ahem, Glee. And Bones. Don’t tell the cool kids.

So how exactly do I unblock only Hulu ads and nothing else? I use a Mac and the latest version of Firefox and I assume the latest Adblock.

Right-click on the little ABP icon in the lower right and choose “Disable for hulu.com

And BTW, if you just left-click on the icon, you can temporarily toggle Adblock on and off. You might need to refresh the page (F5), but not restart Firefox.

Wait.

I’ve been getting the whole “Hulu can not air an ad,” message. Is this from Adblocker.

However, Hulu has just proceded airing my episode with zero commercials anyway. Is this uncommon?

I don’t mind the ads, by the way. It’s part of the deal.

Yeah, that’s what it does - you just sit through that many seconds of “You can’t see this ad because you’re probably a bad person, whaddaya want, a free lunch?” screen.

But then it plays the entire video commercial free, right?

Yeah, it just leaves “holes” where the commercials would go. Frankly I’d rather see the commercials. Except that creepy eyelash growth one with Brooke Shields - it’ll make your eyelashes grow longer but it might darken your eyelids and turn your eyes brown? Erp?

I’ve always thought it was weird that Hulu does this. On other sites, if the ad gets blocked, the featured content refuses to play.

I don’t really bother with it. Ninety-nine percent of all ads today make me not want to buy the product. And, for the remaining one percent, I usually wind up buying from a competitor who is cheaper because they don’t advertise.
