Today, Apple released a Bonjour (formerly RendezVous) plugin for windows. Apparently, it autodiscovers web pages on your local network (totally useless for me) and share printers effortlessly (also useless for me).
But I know the ZeroConf protocol also allows for effortless networking and that would mean filesharing. How do I do that?
That’s not what it means. ZeroConf is a discovery protocol. It allows computers to automatically find others on a network. Machines still need to run appropriate server software independent of ZeroConf for any meaningful information exchange.
Ok. Can you be more specific? what kind of software can you recommend me? I’m tired of ftping back and forth and windows networking isn’t working for some arcane reason.
