I’m fucking sickened with the way you’re all treating me when I’ve just come onto the forums. OK I’ve been reading the forums for a lot longer than I said (about 18 months) so I know about Umkay already but I did nae say because I thought I may get a bad reception asking an admitadly similar thing. I haven’t even fully accepted my disability yet and you all make me feel like nothing. I just wanted to ask a very fair question. I’m not Umkay, I’m not even in thee same country. Surely there must be a way to check IP addresses? Your all a bunch of c*nts and I don’t want to be on this shitty forum anymore. Goodbye.

There have been fewer than 40 posters who have joined in this thread and the original attack on you. There are several hundred posters on this board. We “all” are not attacking you. (Even the 40 or so participants have included some defending you.)

If you simply refrain from opening The BBQ Pit forum and refrain from reading the attacks on you, all those catcalls turn into invisible, inaudible mutterings by anonymous busybodies who have no affect on your life.

If you persist in reading and responding to the catcalls, it gives a number of posters the impression that you enjoy the attention, and gives some of them the impression that you are here explicitly for that attention.

It is your choice, but the easiest way to not encounter nasty stuff is to refrain from opening the nasty threads. Then, if you establish a record of posting in a reasonable manner, the majority of posters will decide that you are not here to be disruptive or to troll for attention and only a few posters who always harbor nasty thoughts will be left to mutter among themselves.

Again, it is your choice, but continuing to fight with other posters will do nothing to make the catcalls go away. Ignoring the catcalls while posting reasonably, (with a minimum of TMI), will silence the critics more effectively than joining their dance.
