On Pokerstars, the max number of players in 7-card stud is 8.
But that would mean it’s possible to deal 56 cards.
There’s only 52 cards in a deck. There are no wild cards or jokers.
What gives?
I guess they are counting on several people folding prior to getting 7 cards.
In the absence of that, I guess the 7th card would be a community card.
Yes, in the unlikely event of 8 players sticking around until the river, they all share the last card as community.
So that means that the last card is up instead of down?
Yes, and it’s the 7th card for everyone.
