How come my brain works better at certain times than others?

I think ive realized how my brain works -as far as how to utilize it for maximum thinking power. I realized this from trying to write; sometimes I can do it and it flows out so easily and other times i sit down and nothing comes to me. I just cant think of anything… -And I dont get why sometimes i can do it (think better) and sometimes i cant. It seems to me that perhaps I am just now realizing this; … Maybe I only get a good 6 or so hours of real brain power to devote to anything during a given day. - Maybe if I dont set aside those 6 hours to be working on something I want to work on then those 6 hours will be wasted on mindless tasks, that should be done during the power hours…
So this is just a theory of mine, that most days I waste my good hours doing crap that needs to get done, and then after it is done I have wasted all my nuronic energy to be able to think really good.

Thats what it must be, maybe those little nurons and synapsis and whatever in the brain ony work best for a certain period of time, and after that they have to rest…

My question is How come my brain works better at certain times than others and how can I make it work best all day or at least longer?

You guys seem to get mad if its not a proper question. My question is; Im sure there have been ppl that have writen on the subjet i bring up, and Im sure some of you out there know something about it that i dont, and since i want to know everything there is to know, if you do know anything about this let me know.

The body has a general down time in the early afternoon. You may feel a bit sleepy and have difficulty concentrating. Is the early afternoon a time you find your brain doesn’t work so well?

It can also be to do with what and when you eat. If you skip meals you may find your energy levels dropping.

To echo Death Ray, your body goes through daily circadian rhythms that affect what’s going on in your brain. Part of this includes the afternoon downtime; some people have proposed that this is proof that it’s natural for humans to take naps in the afternoon. Also, your brain uses glucose for fuel, and a lowered glucose supply can interfere with mental sharpness and memory. A good diet is important. Getting enough sleep is important, too.

Well, we don’t get mad, but if it’s not a question, we can’t answer it. So OPs to GQ should always include a question that can be answered factually.

Am I the only one who read the title and was thinking the OP might have been refering to times when… wow, man, what was I going to say?
