How common are Anglo members in Hispanic criminal gangs?

Recently in Albuquerque there was a man purported to be a member of the Sureños gang from California killed in a shoot out. His name was Scott McMyne from Norwalk CA. Sureños (southerners) are supposed to be a Mexican Mafia affiliated gang from southern California. It’s difficult to tell if he’s a light skinned Hispanic or partially Hispanic, or Anglo from his picture. But he looks more Anglo to me.

I’ve noticed a similar case last year in Corpus Christi with an Anglo named “Hispanic” gang member.

If Anglo named members are in Hispanic gangs, are they partially Hispanic (mom/dad Hispanic), just from the “old neighborhood,” or are the gangs just branching out to new members irregardless of ethnicity and vice versa (“can’t beat them, join them”)?
