How creepy is this? (Guy fondles woman's hair on public transportation)

It’s called the cerebral periphery.

Anyway, I just got off the bus and boy was it crowded. I think I might have impregnated somebody.

Seriously though, I was doing my best not to feel like a pervert but then I noticed that nobody else seemed to care one way or the other, and it was so crowded that everybody was rubbing up against everybody else. I was more worried about my wallet than about who was touching what.

As far as I’m concerned, if it’s attached to me, it’s part of me for such purposes as social boundaries.

Me too. If you want to fondle my leeches - you’ve gotta ask.

I can’t see the video, but if earlier comments about the guy fondling himself while touching a stranger’s hair in a public place are accurate, then there is no question about the creepiness factor involved.

As a person with very long hair for a very long time, I can attest to the fact that people can and do touch other people’s hair. Of course, friends and family have spontaneously handled my hair, and they are generally allowed in ‘my bubble’, but I have had strangers touch my hair far more times than I could recall or count.

Recently, it happened when I was walking out of an office building. A woman behind me just picked up the end for a few seconds. I felt it and saw her out of the corner of my eye but just kept walking and she let it go. And also recently at work, a coworker was handling my braid and then pointed out to me that she was doing so and I had not noticed.

I have notice that my hair gets touched far more often when it is braided. I think some people are just simply compelled to do so by the braided appearance. I don’t think I have ever had my hair touched when it was not braided.

I thought the video had a comment saying she did tell her, and call the cops too.

And of course it’s creepy to have a total stranger touch your hair on the bus. Especially the sneaky way he was doing it.

I’m sure someone could touch the bottom of my hair without me knowing, but if I turn my head quick and they don’t let go, I’ll know then. Of course if it just happens once I’ll probably think it got caught on the chair or something - with curly hair, that’s constantly a possibility. It wraps around everything.

He wasn’t crammed in there right next to her. He reached over/through the gap in the seat to touch her hair. It was gross and a violation.

I hope people realized I was only kidding…

I did.

You can see the video here.

I have to ask what is it with people when their first reaction to seeing something like this is to take out a mobile device and record it ? When I was watching it I wanted to scream “STOP FONDLING THE BLONDE PERSONS HAIR !!” and when she looked back and I would tell her she may want to move seats away from this freak.

I keep wondering about that. Because that person took the video, the Calgary police may be able to do something about it, instead of Creepy McPervertson being able to do this and whatever else he likes with impunity on transit buses and trains. As Anaamika says, the cops are definitely involved now.

I think I probably would have told the woman about it, after I got good evidence.

Sorry about that - I didn’t think there would be a problem with global viewing, but the video has been taken down. Thanks for the link, Ibanez.

In Canada we apologize when we find someone fondling our hair.

What this fellow has is called “trichophilia”. It is exactly what he is doing.

The person taking the video may have been thinking that 1 minute of documentation was worth the delay. We also don’t know what happened after the video. The videographer may have told the blonde ponytail woman, who may have said f*** off to the creeper and moved to another seat - or murdered him, for that matter- we just don’t know.

What a coincidence. Sort of. Last night, I was watching a Youtube vid about “The Haircut Killer” , who was some murderer in Europe, who had a hair fetish. He would go onto busses, into public places, etc…and cut a lock from somebody’s hair without their knowledge. Somehow, this tied into the murder MO.

I had to check the vid, just to see if it was someone I knew. It wasn’t.

I was thinking of this case - a woman in Portsmouth (UK) was killed a few years back. Her hair was cut after the murder, and in her hand was placed a lock of hair (not her own). There was a major effort to identify the donor (isotope analysis showed where she had travelled to recently, etc). Other women also came forward having had hair cut off in public places.

The case was finally linked to a recently found body in Italy (17 years after the girl disappeared) and an italian man living in Portsmouth arrested and convicted of murder.
