unusual characters like that must make it a right pain in the arse to log in though (say, after clearing your cookies, or on a public computer).

One way to do it would be to use the non-printing character  .
So typing &#173; produces  which in turn produces nothing.

(note that using the preview feature messes things up)

Hmmm, so it’s not infinity but 8 on its side. Wouldn’t infinity be symmetrical?
