10/10 and I’m Canadian. What do I win?
Universal health care.
.
10/10 to my surprise.
It could be. I don’t know if there is a running tab or if it’s a load of malarchy. It seems to me that if you get someone’s attention (take this quiz!) then feed them your perspective (it’s not a tax or penalty for not offering insurance, it’s a tax credit if you do offer insurance) the logical next step would be to tell the participant they are an expert on the matter such that they will speak up and repeat what you’ve told them.
9/10. Didn’t know about the subsidy to small businesses.
9/10. Missed #4.
I see how that would make sense.
I repeated the test trying to get half right (which is what chance would produce, not sure how they count the “Don’t know” option) and it told me I did better than 36% of Americans, which sounds about right.
This, precisely. I figured I’d get 7 or 8 right, but apparently the Dope has made me pretty damn smart (or at least relatively well-informed about this one specific issue’s basic elements, whichever).
10 out of 10, but I guessed on #4:
Will the health reform law expand the existing Medicaid program to cover low-income, uninsured adults regardless of whether they have children?
and #8:
Will the health reform law provide tax credits to small businesses that offer coverage to their employees?
7 out of 10.
10/10…huh? Just lucky I guess.
I doubt many people with terrible scores are going to post them here. What’s that tendency called? “Selective something”? We’re only going to get people who feel they’ve scored decently.
10/10. I wasn’t sure about giving tax credits to small businesses but it sounded reasonable and I guessed right.
I was able to answer multiple choice questions about this but I would have never been able to come up with most of that on my own save the parts about pre-existing conditions, Medicaid expansion, and penalties for not having coverage.
I’m Indian ![]()
And while I spend time on the dope and have some awareness of what’s going on, I only KNEW the answer to one question (whether there was going to be a government plan or not) . The rest I guessed based on what sounded politically feasible.
10/10.
9/10, missed #4 about Medicaid expansion.
It may be selective reporting, or maybe the stats the website is using are whacked?
8/10
HOLY FREAKIN EH!!!
10/10 and I don’t even live in the US (but I am American). LOL!
10/10. I’ve spent most of the last 6 weeks neck deep in proposals to help the States update their systems and processes in order to achieve compliance with the new regs. Which of course requires knowing the law well enough to guess what reg.s will come out of it.
So, yeah. Darn good thing.
I’m not American and know very little about Obamacare, but I got 8/10 because it seemed to me that the questions had a pro-public-healthcare leaning to them, so you could guess what they were getting at. Basically “Will Obamacare cause <something bad> to happen?” Answer: No.
