My impression is that Buffy, if taken as a sort of superhero, is fairly average in terms of skills and abilities when compared to most of the Marvel and DC luminaries.
Without his gadgets, Batman is also average, of course (correct me if I’m wrong). A Buffy vs. Batman fight without weapons would likely be pretty even – or maybe even in Buffy’s favor.
But what about Buffy vs. Spiderman? Buffy vs. The Hulk <shudder>? Buffy vs. X-men?
Buffy vs. Superman? Um … no.
After yesterday’s Buffy episode, she clearly seems to be the second most powerful character on the show to Willow. Now Willow might be able to wreck considerable havoc in the Marvel and DC universes, though I know there are “chracters” like Galactus and others who are pretty much all-powerful and would thus trump Willow.
As an aside – can Willow now whip Jedi butt were she transported to the Star Wars universe?
Willow is powerful but her powers are not latent. They come fromexternal energy (magick) So she could easily be cut off from them. If Warren had chopped Willow in the head instead of the back… Willow would have died. The episode showed clearly that Willow wasn’t all powerful. Warren was able to sneak up on her, able to trick her by using a robot… goddamn that was stupid. Willow can’t sense the difference between a machine and a man? Noxon’s a tard… Wait where was I? Warren was able to capture her in that gel (albeit for a few seconds but wht if he had used his Quidditch bomb right then? Blammo)
As for Buffy vs. Marvel…
Buffy might be able to beat that reporter from Deadline.
Seriously I think Buffy as far as powers are concerned is closer to Captain America… just super strong, really agile but nothing that remarkable when compared to the likes of Hulk, Spiderman or other strength heavy heroes.
I think Rack infused the robot with Warren’s essence, remember how he paid a lot of money to Rack to try and run. Noxon is a tard however.
I think Buffy is most comparable to Spider-Man. Incredible agility and high base strength that can surge. Her healing rate is very high though it seems to require resting to kick in. I think she is on par and could figure out a way to defeat each of them. After all Glory and Adam were very powerful. Either one of them could have wasted the average superhero.
Spiderman would win, Batman would win, Superman would laugh at her. Cap would win. Dr.Strange would whoop Willow as well. I would rather see Buffy Vs. Zena.
If by “average” you mean “One of the top three martial artists in the DC Universe”, then no, you’re not wrong. Batman has beaten plenty of oponents who were stronger and faster. He’d smack Buffy around like a rented mule.
Buffy could hold her own but probably wouldn’t win depeding on who she is fighting and where. If Buffy were fighting let’s say Superman in his universe she could just get him with kryptonite and whoop his sorry butt. If they were fighting in the Buffverse Superman would slap her silly because there isn’t any kryptonite.
Now if she’s facing the hulk she’s screwed no matter if its dumb or smart hulk.
Spider man is way faster and stronger plus he has web shooters which slow her down if not stop her.
She could stand a chance against Batman though with or without his bat toys. She’s probably just as good a fighter if not better than batman.
No way is she a better fighter… but that doesnt matter with Batman… He’s a million times smarter then our beloved college drop out. That means he’d easily out think her in fight
