How do I avoid getting big play button in center of screenshot of flash player screen

OK, that was an awkwardly worded title. Here’s the situation. I’m trying to grab a still from a flash player on a website. I can stop the player and use a screenshot utility to get an image from the video. The only problem is, when I stop the video to use the utlity, a large play button suddenly appears smack dab in the center. Is there any way around this short of investing in more software?

I did a search here in GQ, but either I don’t know how to use proper keywords, or nobody’s asked this questiion before.

Any thanks would be greatly appreciated.

What browser? If FF, get yourself the addon called Ant Video Downloader. Once you’ve got the video on your drive, you can take screenshots much more easily with a wide variety of video players.

Any appreciation will be greatly thanked.
Wait. What?

P.S. You might want to go into the Privacy Options in AVD and uncheck everything in that section for maximum privacy and to disable that AntRank crap.

Why not just press the PrtScn key at the the appropriate point while the video is actually playing? There is no need to stop it. The image goes into your clipboard. I just tried this, and it worked.

Thanks so much njtt. Worked perfectly. I didn’t realize that printscreen would freeze the video. Lord luv a duck, that walking and chewing gum thing can be such a trial sometimes. I love this board!
