My cousin has beaten me in a stupid FB game, and I can’t seem to top his record, which is of course completely unacceptable. I know other people are cheating, because there are impossible high high-scores. I recon it is a Javascript game – maybe they are debugging the game, but this seems like a bit much work to put in it. Is there a way to slow down my Javascript engine, to better my performance? It’s only fair as the intolerable lad is much younger than me, so he must have faster reflexes.
The best way to cheat them is to not play them…because they are cheating you.

I assume cheating on Facebook games is not illegal, so I’m going to move this to the Game Room. I’ll let the Game Room mods decide whether asking for advice on cheating is acceptable.

I know you can cheat ON facebook games, by playing around with other games on the side…
If you want to cheat in a Flash game, you use a memory editor to change values and then submit your score. You search for your score in memory a few times to make sure you have the right bytes and then just set it to whatever you want. Lots of programs exist that can do this. HxD is one that comes to mind.
Seriously though, don’t be lame.
With a passing knowlege of http and a few browser plugins it is actually pretty easy to figure out what flash games are sending to a server and manipulate that data.
You can use browser add ons such as Firebug, Firecookies, Hackbar, and HttpFox to examine cookies, examine POST & GET variables and determine what is going on, and figure out exactly what need to be sent to the game server to have a higher score.
Sometimes this is easy, sometimes it is significantly more difficult than playing the game and getting good at it.
Or you could get a book on “self confidence” and learn to not obsess over some kid beating you at Farmville.
IIRC, you’re in Denmark. So, take the time you would have spent reverse engineering the game, or getting good enough at it to beat him, multiply that by your hourly salary. Then take that much money down to the red light district and purchase an hour with as many beautiful women and your favorite intoxicants as you can. Have them sign their names next to lipstick marks on your chest. Take a picture of yourself, bare-chested, among the scantily dressed women, holding your favorite intoxicant.
Send it to your cousin with a subject of “Check out my high score!”

Why do I only learn of this game mere hours before I have to go to work instead of during one of the past five days in which I was completely free?
It’s a lot easier to just tell people you have a million zillion points in whatever game is mentioned. I mean, if you’re going to cheat, there’s really no reason to play at all, is there?
