On Internet Explorer you can download an image to disk simply by holding your mouse down on an image for a few seconds and selecting “download an image to disk”. This does not seem to work on Firefox, so what is the procedure?
Right-click, “save image as”.
My mouse only has one button (Macintosh!) What then?
Hold the control key down, then click. I think. It’s been a while.
You want this extension Image Toolbar.
CMC fnord!
Buy another mouse?
Control + click is the equivalent of right-click on the Mac, assuming it was made in the last 7-8 years, anyway.
If you’ve got Mac OS X, however, I’d follow the advice to get a new mouse. Any Multi-Button USB mouse will work on the Macintosh, and more and more applications are starting to assume you’ve got that second button. Even Apple ships their machines with 2-button mice now (although the “Mighty Mouse” is really more of a 1.5 button mouse – use one for a bit before you buy if that’s what you’re looking at. Some folks love it, but I don’t lift my left finger when I right-click, which makes the Mighty Mouse useless to me – it’s really only got one button, and it senses which side your finger is on. If it’s “both,” the mouse treats it as a left click.)
