Scroll down to highlight the offending entry and then hit shift + delete.
Click and Hold on the Back arrow.
That provides a short list of recently visited sites.
At the bottom is an entry “Show full history.”
Click on that to see all history.
From there, one can Click on “Clear browsing data…” to erase some or all all history
Or
Click a Check Box to select items to delete using “Remove selected items.”
To the right is the message: "Showing history from your signed-in devices. Learn more
Clicking on the “Learn more” hyper link will open up a general tutorial on how to manage history including selecting entries to delete.
“certain” from within the URL/location bar (type ahead is what I assume you mean) is not truly possible - You can, however, choose under privacy settings what to show when you type in that bar, one option, is “none”.
Of course, if you choose “history only” as the option, and you don’t travel to a site you don’t want shown (or clear that from your selective history) - then it should not show up either.
