My mother was cleaning out one of her lockboxs this weekend and found $350 worth of Series EE savings bonds from the mid '80s in my name. She’d long forgotten about them and I was a baby when I got them. So how do I go about; finding out how much they’re worth now, and cashing them?
Type in the serial number and date here.
Just for an example, I cashed in a $25 EE bond at full maturity, it was worth about $110.
That’s just where I was going to say. As a bank teller, when customers call and try to get that info over the phone, I just direct them to that website. It’s easier for all involved to do it that way.
Thanks.
