I’m using ACID Sonic Foundry. I uninstalled ACID a while back, and just recently installed it again. I’m completely sure that I was able to get it to recognize MP3s before, but now they refuse to show up. What option/feature do I enable to get it to display MP3s and allow me to use them? Thanks.
Although I don’t use that software, more than likely you might have to convert the mp3 loops to either .wav or the native acid loop format. My WAG.
How do I do that? Doesn’t converting a .mp3 to .wav make it massively larger?
I’ve been using ACID for a few years now (please refrain from the obvious joke), and unfortunately, it doesn’t recognize MP3 files (well, the version I have doesn’t, at least).
Yes, converting MP3s to .wav files does make them considerably larger. You can do the conversion using any of a number of freeware audio programs available via a site like download.com – my program of choice is MediaMonkey.
Also, this is my first post. Hi, everyone.
Hey catastranaut, welcome aboard.
How long are your loops going to be? I don’t think the size will be that much different, unless you’ve got some massive samples. I believe that everything on my version of Acid was a .wav anyway, but it’s been awhile.
