Argh! All I’m getting are giant ? marks. How do I fix this??
Assuming it is the same as Firefox:
Tools/Options/General/Languages/Chinese/Add/OK
I just tried that except for Japanese and then went to Amazon’ Japanese site and it didn’t work. I closed the browser and re-opened, but got the same thing.
Yes, it is the same thing as Firefox. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work - I added all of the Chinese options, and like Mr. Blue Sky, it doesn’t work
I think the ‘Languages’ section is to inform the server you’re connecting to as to your preferred language. (ie, you could set up a web site, and users preferring french would see french, english would see english). Not 100% sure on that, but the characters seem correct at amazon.jp, and I don’t have anything selected in there.
If you choose View/Character Encoding, do you see “Japanese (Shift_JIS)”? If you don’t, then I’d say the character set you need isn’t installed. Usually when I visit a site with characters I don’t have, a box pops up asking if I want to install it. I don’t know why you haven’t seen this.
This MS support page might help.
As it says, yry going to the Windows Update site and installing multi-language support. If that’s already there… I dunno.
