How do I lock my 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid hatch window? (Dumbest question ever)

I have owned this car for about 4 years now… and I just realized, that even if I arm the locks from the remote, I can still open the rear hatch window. (It will set the alarm off.)

I have to believe that there is a switch somewhere that I can flip to make it lock when the car is locked, right? Surely Ford didn’t build a car where the only barrier to someone opening it is an alarm?

Any mechanic Dopers or owners of this car know what I’m talking about?

That is weird. I have a 2004 non-hybrid and the window is locked if the hatch door is locked.

I think your vehicle is broken.

Your window locking servo mechanism must be faulty, as this appears to be the only thing that locks it.

Not to worry you, but a quick Google search shows a bigger problem with the window’s glass exploding!
