Pretty sure there is an arrow that takes you to the post being replied to if it is (1) not quoted and (2) not the immediately preceding post. See the gray arrow next to the coffee cop (avatar) in my post?

But that’s what we’re referring to - the post immediately following the post it’s quoting. You can’t always tell if it’s replying to the preceding post or to the OP. .

I mean, you can say “just use context,” but I know I’ve run across posts where I couldn’t tell if the post was a reply to the OP or the preceding post.
