How do I raise the seat on my Honda CB750?

I have to do some minor maintenance to my Honda CB750, and the repair manual tells me to raise the seat, but it doesn’t tell me HOW to raise the seat. I’ve looked through it again and again and I can’t figure it out.

Is there anyone here who has one of these bikes and can tell me how to raise the seat?

Are there screws under the seat? I had those on my Hondaw Shadow and they were a pain to get to.

I seem to recall a lever under the seat of my rather smaller Honda, like the hood of a car.

There should be a key actuated lever on the left rear of the seat, on the lower edge of the seat somewhere.

Use your ignition key, it may be that you have to turn the key and lift the seat at the same time, it kind of slides backwards and upwards all at the same time.

What year, may make a difference?
Have an Owner’s Manual?
When all else fails check with the Dealer’s Service Deptartment.
Or get a BIG pry bar. :wink:
