I usually wear a different watch, so I’ve forgotten a couple of things about my mid-1980s Seiko Quartz Chronograph Sports 100. The stopwatch hand is sitting at 58 seconds. I know you can ‘step’ it, but Idon’t remember how. How do I get the stopwatch hand back to the 12 o’clock position? IIRC, it involves holding a button while pressing another.
Is it one of the models here?

I have a Hamilton chronograph. To step the stopwatch’s second hand, you pull the crown all the way out and push the top button (the one that also starts and stops the stopwatch). I don’t know if this is standard or not, but you might give it a shot.
A few years ago, my dad gave me his old Seiko but couldn’t find the instruction booklet. Seiko sent me one for free, all I had to do was provide the serial number.
Seiko’s website has manuals online now.
Here the full manual for the very similar 7A38. Setting instructions shold be almost indentical,
Hey, thanks everyone!
I’ll check out the links later. I spent 13 hours helping to build a set and setting up my lights yesterday, and am working on four hours’ sleep before heading off to actually do some shooting. I’ll look at the links when I’m a bit more awake/rested.
Thanks, Astro. That was exactly what I needed.
